Dye Municipal Masterpiece

Part of the goodwill hinged on the requirement that a professional operator with creativity and business acumen was installed.

Wintonbury Hills is approximately 15 minutes north of Hartford, Connecticut. It was designed by Pete Dye as a community contribution for $1. Part of the goodwill hinged on the requirement that a professional operator with creativity and business acumen was installed. That’s why the Town of Bloomfield turned to Indigo Golf Partners', the leader in municipal golf course operation.

Since opening in 2005, Indigo Golf Partners has aggressively marketed the facility to annually achieve budgeted revenue, rounds and net operating income for the Town. Known for its phenomenal course conditions and personable service, the golf course continues to lead the market in acquisition and retention of golfers and events.

Wintonbury Hills boasts a popular full-service restaurant and bar which is open year-round, despite the golf course closing during snow-covered winter months. Indigo Golf Partners developed and implemented several programs to build and maintain profitable a la carte and banquet/event businesses, trained staff in procedures unique to operating successful food-and-beverage operation at golf clubs and instilled the firm’s “Guest Experience Vision.”

Our team secured significant media coverage for the facility during its first two years of operation, including the “#23 Best New Golf Course in America” by Golf Digest and “#2 Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Connecticut" by Golfweek and “#6 Best Municipal Golf Courses in United States” by GOLF Magazine. As part of the facility’s overall marketing program, the rankings and ratings are used in direct mail, e-mail and other communications to prospective and existing guests. The enormous impact of these messages are tracked through direct response invitations to play as well as guest surveys.

Indigo Golf Partners has operated Wintonbury Hills Golf Course for the Town of Bloomfield for nearly 20 years, renewing our management agreement numerous times. This long-tenured relationship speaks to the consistency, expertise and professionalism Indigo Golf Partners provides.
