Polishing a West Coast Gem

Indigo Golf Partners was selected in November 2018 after a national search to lease Alhambra Golf Course beginning January 1, 2019.

BACKGROUND

Alhambra Golf Course – owned by the city of Alhambra, CA – issued an RFP for golf operations and course maintenance in summer 2018. For more than 25 years, the operation was leased by a PGA Professional who decided to retire. Maintenance was managed by a national landscaping firm under a lump-sum contract for the previous five years. The City of Alhambra was seeking one operator to lease the property in its entirety and manage both functions.

IMPLEMENTATION

Indigo Golf Partners was selected in November 2018 after a national search to lease Alhambra Golf Course beginning January 1, 2019. Our early accomplishments include:

  • Managing a smooth transition from two operators under one umbrella, retaining over 90% of existing employees.
  • Increasing golf rounds and revenue through exciting programming and effective tee sheet management.
  • Significantly improving course conditions without significantly increasing expenses by using Indigo Golf Partners agronomic best practices.

RESULTS

Capitalizing on the course’s potential proved financially beneficial for both Indigo Golf Partners and the City. Operating profits at Alhambra Golf Course increased by $250,000 after the first year of Indigo Golf Partners management.

Customer praise includes:

“Course conditions are the best in 10 years!”

“Men’s and women’s groups are ecstatic with the new operations.”
